Knitting: 2024 favourites.

Venezia Shawl, pattern by Joji Locatelli.
Yarn: Ozifarmer’s Market, Rapture (fingering; 70% alpaca, 20% silk, 10% cashmere goat) in colourway Chocolate.

A beautiful yarn that is soft and silky with a subtle glow, and delightful when worn close to the skin. This pattern is a favourite that I would like to return to, with a lace edge reminiscent of the X formed in the web of a St Andrew’s Cross spider.

Rime Scarf, pattern by Amy Gunderson.
Yarn: Handmaiden Fine Yarn, Superkid Silk (lace; 70% mohair, 30% silk) in colourways Violetta and Radiant Orchid.

The blend of the two colours—magenta and violet—make this shawl shimmer. A generous size, with a lovely lace border that balances a bit of flair with a practically cozy solid body. Made for my mother, I would like to make one for myself one day.
