This year I was invited by Stu Horvath to create work for Unwinnable‘s online magazine, Unwinnable Monthly. We populated the Bestiary with mythical creatures (harpies, sphinxes, minotaurs, and more), each with their own story to tell.
Dragon’s Bane was one of the saddest DA:I achievements.
In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said: ‘Is it good, friend?’
‘It is bitter-bitter,’ he answered;
‘But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart.’
—In the desert, Stephen Crane, 1895
Oye, hijo mío, el silencio.
Es un silencio ondulado,
donde resbalan valles y ecos
y que inclina las frentes
hacia el suelo.
